For young children, developing social competence– the ability to engage in successful interactions with others, family, friends, school, and community– is an integral part of development. Research indicates that, as early as preschool and kindergarten, the strength of a child’s social competence and self-regulation are strong predictors of later school and life success. The SEE framework addresses these through daily classroom community building, investigating projects, and culturally relevant materials.
